Cupcake

12/31/11 - AEC Novi

Our Kitty, Cupcake, was 21 years old. He was losing weight and getting much slower over the last month, but thought he'd hang in there until well after the Holidays. However, on Christmas Eve morning he suffered a seizure and couldn't walk at all and was having dificulty breathing. We had to make the call.
The staff at AEC was very compassonate and understanding through the whole process. From the phone call to see if they were even open on Christmas Eve to explaining the whole process and what to expect.
We've never gone through this quite like this before. We wanted to be with him 'till the very end. It must be disconcerting to have two people in their late 40s crying like babies, but everyone treated us with patience, understanding and compassion. We felt comfortable being there and not ashamed or embarrassed. They made a very difficult time much easier and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
We've told our friends and family how wonderful AEC is when we told them of Cupcake. Today we received a wonderful card with everyone's handwritten expression of sympathy for our loss. That compelled us to write to you to let you, and anyone who may be considering using you, know what wonderful, compassionate people you all truly are.
