04/04/13 - AEC Novi

The first question does not pertain to us because due to the sudden attack our dog suffered, our vet's office called ahead for us to alert AEC that we were on our way.
Dr. Robertson was amazingly calm as I tried to explain, through many tears and hysteria, how our nearly 15 year old dog, Terri was attacked by our neighbor's dog (second time).
After her initial review of Terri, she explained to my husband (via phone) and I what the best and worse case scenarios might be. She was open and caring. After I saw Terri one more time, I was advised to leave and would be kept updated with phone calls from Dr. Robertson. There were a few of those, and she was continuously positive and caring until the last call, when it became clear I had no choice but to tell her to let Terri go - her internal injuries were just too much, coupled with her external injuries. We are heartbroken and beyond sad, but I know Terri got the best emergency care she could have had and would be here today had her injuries not been so severe - she was not lost due to inadequate care or help. I believe Dr. Robertson and staff did all they possibly could, and for that I am grateful.
